Cadet Summer Training 2022
GENERAL INFO
At this time, summer training opportunities for 2022 are moving forward as planned and ALL cadets are encouraged to apply.  Due to the current pandemic, some Cadet Training Centres(CTC) will NOT be operational, and therefore some courses will NOT be conducted this year, or will be modified.  To include more cadets in summer training, virtual training and the summer Cadet Activity Programs(CAP) will run concurrently with CTC courses.

Please see Cadet Summer Training 2022 for more information about how summer training will be conducted in 2022.
CADET ACTIVITY PROGRAM (age 12-14)
The Cadet Activity Program(CAP) will be delivered locally for cadets age 12-14 who have completed year 1 (Green Star) or year 2 (Red Star) training.  Year 1 cadets are eligible for a 5-day camp.  Year 2 cadets are eligible for a 12-day camp which includes 2 overnights.  See CAP Summer 2022 for more information about CAP, and here for CAP Locations and Dates.

**NOTE** cadets may apply to CAP locations outside their local area.  Ex. if you live in Aurora but have a cottage or family you spend the summer with in Ottawa, you may apply for the Ottawa CAP.

Training Courses will be offered to cadets who have completed their third year of training (Silver Star) or higher, which will be hosted at Cadet Training Centres. Courses range in length from 2-4 weeks and take place at CTC locations across the country.  Army Cadets aged 14+ and who have completed Silver Star may apply to Common Courses, such as Air Rifle Marksmanship Instructor and Drill and Ceremonial Instructor, or they may apply for specific Army Courses, such as Expedition Instructor or Leadership & Challenge.  For a full list of course offerings, age requirements, and prerequisites, see CTC Summer Courses 2022.
STAFF CADET OPPORTUNITIES (age 16+)
Cadets age 16 and older may apply for positions as staff cadets at either CAPs or CTCs.  Staff cadets may hold a variety of positions.
HOW TO APPLY
  1. Decide your Summer 2022 Course - Cadets and parents should review the 2022 training options (see above).
  2. Decide your top 3 choices and serials (course dates). **NOTE** Cadets may choose the same course for multiple choices if it offers multiple serials (course dates). Courses that only offer one serial may only be selected once.
