Cadet Summer Training 2023
GENERAL INFO
Summer training opportunities for 2023 are moving forward as planned and ALL cadets are encouraged to apply. The Cadet Program Re-scope has changed the way the Cadet Program operates moving forward. To include more cadets in summer training, virtual training and the summer Cadet Activity Programs(CAP) will run concurrently with CTC courses.

CADET ACTIVITY PROGRAM (Green Star & Red Star)
The Cadet Activity Program(CAP) will be delivered locally for cadets who have completed year 1 (Green Star) or year 2 (Red Star) training. Year 1 cadets are eligible for a 4-day daily drop-off activity program. Year 2 cadets are eligible for a 7-day daily drop-off program which include a 3-day 2-night overnight component. |
CADET TRAINING CENTRES (Silver Star & Gold Star)
Training Courses will be offered to cadets who have completed their third year of training (Silver Star) or higher. Some courses are offered virtually on Cadet365, while some will be hosted at Cadet Training Centres(CTC). Courses range in length from 2 to 7 weeks and take place at CTC locations across the country. Army Cadets who have completed Silver Star may apply to Common Courses, such as Air Rifle Marksmanship Instructor and Drill and Ceremonial Instructor, or they may apply for specific Army Courses, such as Expedition Team Member or Fullbore Marksman Phase 1. |
ADVANCED CADET OPPORTUNITIES (Master Cadet)
Cadets in the Master Cadet program may apply for positions as staff cadets at either CAP or CTC. Staff cadets hold a variety of positions from training support, to Platoon WOs, to the RSM of the CTC. Master Cadets may also apply for advanced opportunities as part of the National Advisory Council, CF Basic Parachutist Course, or for the Maple Leaf Exchange to the United Kingdom HOW TO APPLY

Summer Training Joining Instructions
Before attending summer training at a CTC it is imperative that you read and understand the joining instructions. Please read below the "Common Joining Instructions", this is applicable for all cadets attending summer training courses. Each Training Center will also have an additional package that pertains to that specific training. To ensure that you are informed, we highly recommended that you read the packages and write down questions that you may have.
