ABOUT SHOOTINGThe Cadet Marksmanship Program is a challenging and competitive sports program accessible to all cadets. It develops skills through superior training and Olympic-style competition. This is why every year, thousands of cadets participate in this fun and rewarding program.
Cadets have the opportunity to participate in a series of competitions at the local level that culminate in provincial/territorial competitions and an annual National Cadet Marksmanship Championship. |

The Air Rifle team trains once per week as a team; Tuesday evenings starting in November as well as occasional full-day Saturday practices. Team members are expected to train in the mental side of shooting as well between practice. The Air Rifle season consists of three progressive competitions: Zones, Regionals, & Nationals. The team also competes in some additional competition events, both with other cadets and on the civilian circuit, such as the Bawden Shoot, Tartan Shoot, QYRANG Invitational and the Canadian Airgun Grand Prix.

HOW TO JOIN |
Lt J Kasper hosts Junior and Open Development nights starting in September and running through the end of October. Cadets are encouraged to come out to these opportunities to gain experience and skills before tryouts. Every cadet in the corps will have the chance to shoot on the Remembrance Day sleepover weekend (November) for their qualification and also, as their tryout for the team. ANY cadet can tryout for the team regardless of experience or marksmanship ability. If successful in making the first cut, you will then start practicing with the team. There will be multiple "cuts" during the season and 5 cadets will make the final team selection, usually 3 seniors and 2 juniors.
